Treatment of common cold and cough:

It depends on the cause, so treatment may include conservative management as normal saline nasal drops as silva nasal drops 4-5 times daily, and drinking enough hot fluid, and you can use antihistamine as chlorpheniramine ( 3cc for 3 years, 7 cc for 8 years ) once daily twice daily for 5 days for allergy, and antibiotic as augmentin syrup ( 3cc for 3 years, 7 cc for 8 years ) three times daily for bacterial infection.

Diagnosis of the cause of common cold and cough:

You have to visit your doctor for clinincal examination and investigations as CBC to detect infection and chest x-ray
