Treatment of dore throat:

According to your description, you can use paracetamol 500 mg 3-4 times daily, and you have to drink good amount of hot fluids, and you can use cetrizine 10 mg once daily for 5 days, and if there is bacterial infection, you can use azithromycin 500 mg once daily for 3-5 days.

Diagnosis of the cause of sore throat:

It depends on the clinical examination of your doctor and investigations as CBC to detect infection, PCR and chest x-ray to rule out COVID-19 infection

Causes of sore throat:

It may be due to:

• Viral infection which associated with low grade fever
• Bacterial infection which associated with high grade fever
• COVID-19 infection which associated with cough, arthralgia, dyspnea
