Hi, i am diagnosed with mrsa by taking swab samples from inside my nose and i was prescribed moxyfloxacin for 14 days. The doctor talked about linazolid, but wanted to try moxyfloxacin first. While taking the medicine initially, the symptoms reduced, but after the course is finished. The problems re appears. I have greenish mucus coming out of my sinus and also the sputumn is greenish, too. The doctor is not giving any other antibiotic stating the current covit situation. I am suffering with this type of problem for last 1 year, since my sinus fess and septoplasty surgery. Can u help?

treatment:
MRSA means infection by Methicillin-resistant staph. aureus bacteria, its a strain of bacteria that doesn't respond to the common and routinely prescribed Antibiotics because its ability to resist these drugs, it causes various symptoms according to the infected site and for the treatment a strong antibiotic should be used, of the common anti-MRS drugs used is vancomycin which is given in the hospital or linezolid.
dosage of linezolid:
- tablets 600mg twice a day for 14-28 days.
precautions:
- don't take the drug if you have hypersensitivity reactions
- it's not advisable to take the drug if you are suffering from high blood pressure
- it's not advisable to take it during pregnancy
- if you have diabetes the drug might lower your blood sugar
- it might cause dizziness so avoid it before driving
advice:
- if monofloxacin is not enough to eradicate the MRSA infection then its advisable to try another antibiotic such as linezolid, and there is nothing to do with the CORONA virus
