What is HPV ?
HPV is Human papilloma which is one of the most commonly sexual transmitted disease (STD), and it’s cuased by human papilloma virus , this group of virus contain about 150 types , many of them causes warts , and there are specific types which causes cancer
Mode of transmission :
1.    Sexual contact , more than 40 types are transmitted through vaginal or anal sex .
2.    Skin to skin transmission from the infected area to intact skin .
Signs and symptoms :
Human papilloma can be asymptomatic in most cases , but may cause the following accoding to the type of the virus :
1.    Genital warts :may appear as small pumps , or stem –like protrusion and affect (vulva , anus , vagina ) and these pumps different is size and shape.
Its caused by HPV type 6, 11
2.common warts : occurs in hands and feet and its charechterized by cauli-flower like surface < its cuased by HPV 1,2,27,63
3.Planter warts : occurs in the soles of feet
4. Flat wart : which can affect face , arms and different areas of skin .
5. cancer : different types of HPV like (16, 18, 31, and 45) , are precancerous and carries a high risk of cancers like (vagina, vulva, anus ).
Diagnosis :
1.    Vinegar (acetic acid) solution test. A vinegar solution applied to HPV-infected genital areas turns them white
2.    Pap test : a specimen is collected by a doctor form vagina , cervix and send it to the lab
3.    DNA tests: a sample is taken by adocter to dertermine the type of papilloma and to determine if its cancerous or not . this is the most definitive test
Treatmemt:
There is currently no specific treatment for HPV , but  the body's immune system clears HPV naturally within two years for 90% of cases.
Prevention :
1.    Avoid sexual contact  with persons infected with this virus
2.    Using condoms
3.    Vaccines : Gardasil, Cervarix, and Gardasil , these vaccines used to protect from certain types of hpv (16,18) , but not all of them .
