Once an expat receives their work permit from their employer, they need to apply for a long-stay visa for work purposes at the Romanian embassy in their home country. To get the visa, a number of documents will have to be submitted.

After arriving in Romania, a non-EU expat will need to register with the Romanian Ministry of Finance and get their Cod de Identificare Fiscala (CIF), a tax registration certificate with similar functions to a personal identification number. Again, this will require several documents.
After submitting the file, they will take your fingerprints and some photos from the visa application center, and the procedures may take 10 days or less

For the visa requirements are as below:

  1. A copy of your valid passport for at least six months.

  1. Personal photo as the passport photos.

  1. A bank statement to guarantee the expenses of residence duration there.

  1. Hotel Reservations “ticket”

  1. Air tickets “round trip “

  1. Health Insurance.

  1. Provide you valid residence for at least 3 months.

  1. Provide the employer NOC.

  1. Provide No Criminal Record

Then pay the fees and wait for the reply whether you are accepted or not by the embassy.
