the reatment relies upon the main cause of hte infection but in geneal the antifungal ovules such as clatrimazole can be used in case of fungla illness or oral antibiotics such as metronedazole as cream or tablets 
what are the signs and symptoms of vaginal infection ?

• whitish or greenish discharge ( usualy if the discharge is green then the bacterial infection is more promenant ) 
• bad odor of the discharge ( specially in the bacterial infection )
• itchy vagina 
• pain during the sexual intercourse 

what are the diagnostic tests ?
the doctor might exam the vagina and ask you about your symptoms then he will usually identefy the problem throught physical exam of the area and inspection of the discharge and in case of unability to identefy the cause the docotr might request the analysis of the discharge to check for the cause
