Once you have a UAE residence visa and if you want to drive a car (private or leased) in the UAE, you must apply for a UAE driving license.

You have to bring your Passport with residence visa (copy and original) and a No objection certificate (NOC) from employer or sponsor plus your existing driving license and teh classical photos (8) and medical certificates such as eye test certificate,
Procedurural are as following, get to a RTA-approved driving school, they will handle all the paperwork with the RTA on ,your behalf and You will be given a temporary driving license

You still have to pass your theorical and road test and if you fail on them you'll be asked to take 8 driving lessons and re-pass the practical
