We would like to inform you that in order for a person to obtain a driving license, a theoretical and practical test must be passed to pass the driving test and the driver of the driver’s license if he holds a driver’s license from a foreign legal authority or holders of a military driver’s license can be exempted from providing the test .
The fees for obtaining a driver's license for Qatari nationals are QR 500 and valid for 10 years from the date of issue. The non-Qatari fees are QR 250 and valid for 5 years, which does not include the value of any additional tests such as driving test and examination.
According to the following conditions:
Applicant must be a resident of Qatar.
Must be at least 18 years old to drive a light vehicle or motorcycle and 21 years for heavy vehicles.

Pass the driving test
ID card or passport and two photocopies.
Copy of sponsor's ID card.
A letter from the sponsor with his consent to obtain a driver's license.

The application will be presented with a number of documents that will be mentioned at the General Directorate of Traffic in Khalifa City from 7 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm on Fridays except on Fridays.
