We would like to inform you that yes, it is possible to transfer the Omani driving license to Qatar, and it requires a review of the General Traffic Department, provided that the procedures and documents are as follows.
You may be eligible to transfer your existing driving license, without having to take a driving test. These are the driving licenses that can be transferred:
First: Driving licenses issued by the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries - The license holder must be a citizen of the same country
Second: Driving licenses issued by the following countries - The license holder must be a citizen of the same country and has a valid residence in Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Britain, Belgium, Poland, Turkey, Switzerland, France, Finland, Romania, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, United States of America, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia.
The license department of the General Administration of Traffic has issued a circular to all department heads and branch officers to prevent the replacement of Gulf licenses to non-GCC nationals, with the continuity of their replacement for GCC nationals only.
"It is strictly forbidden to replace Gulf licenses for non-Gulf nationals, with the continued replacement of GCC nationals only," the circular said.
