Arrivals coming to work or live in the UAE needs to undergo medical examinations to ensure his fitness and being able to follow the residency procedures.
accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. (5) of 2016 regarding amending some provisions of Cabinet Resolution No. (7) of 2008, expatriates to the country will be subject to work or residence, the following medical examinations
- AIDS screening includes examinations necessary to detect the disease for all categories of arrivals for residency, when residency is granted, for the first time or upon renewal, and residency is not granted or for positive cases, and it is considered inappropriate in health.
- Check for viral hepatitis
- Examination of pregnancy for domestic workers, such as maids, nannies, drivers, and the like,
- Leprosy Screening: New arrivals to the country are subject to examination and upon renewal of residency. Residence is not granted nor renewed for positive cases for all groups.
- Examination of syphilis
- Screening for tuberculosis
In cases of tuberculosis with bacteria that are resistant to treatment, the injured person is treated until he is cured inside the state and then is considered fit for health and renewed residency for him, and he is exempt from health fitness conditions for old and active tuberculosis for the purpose of obtaining residency for the first time.
