Hi, I am a green card holder currently out of the country, I received visa center approval memo for my unmarried son, and when I wanted to fill the forms, I noticed that I have to be in the states and they want to verify my domicile, what is the acceptable period of stay required?

We would like to inform you that if you have Green Card then you can leave USA and return anytime. However, you have to provide legal papers if you left USA for 6 months or more, in order to prove that you want to reside there.

If you left USA for more than a year then you will lose the green card if there is no special reasons.

For the income, you have to attach the bank statement, for your son salary which is 30-40 thousand, that allows him to get Green Card.

Hi, Actually I have two sons.My son who is going to be employed is the one currently in the states and not the one I am filling for bringing him into the country, my question was Do I need this son’s income to support me in bringing his brother into the states (when filling my documents) since me and my husband are retired? And we have no incomeI will be staying with my son (currently in the states) in a rented house and the tenant contract is in my son’s name, how can I prove that I am residing in the states?What is the minimum required period of stay (time) do I need to to prove that I am residing And intend to stay in the states, before I submit my documents to the visa center to bring my son into the country.My last question, I landed in 2014, and was coming to the states in brief visits with less than six months intervals, except for the first year i left the country and came after ten months, now I intend to stay in the country permanently, after how many months I can apply for citizenship!Note: I file my taxes in time
