I resigned from a security company and got an offer in a school as a teaching assistant. I submitted all the required documents to the school to process my new employment visa. Whenever I asked my new employer about my visa, I was told it was being processed. The grace period on my old visa expired and my formal employer put absconded on me at the immigration. My current employer tried to process my visa twice but got rejected so I went to check at the immigration in Abu Dhabi and was told my formal employer put absconded on me so I should go and speak with them. When I went to them the general manager told me they can't do anything about it. My new company contacted them to settle the issue but still they said they cannot do anything about it so I should go to the immigration. The immigration also said I should settle the case with my formal employer.

I resigned from the formal employer without an escape report. The formal employer filed an escape report after the one month grace period on my visa which requires me to get a new visa or leave the UAE expired but I had not done so. So the escape report came after I had resigned completely from my formal company.

The employer is obliged to make an absconding report against the worker whose work contract expires, his visa is canceled and he does not leave the UAE or obtain a new job within the thirty days following the cancellation date of the visa.
We remain on our previous advice to submit a petition application to the General Directorate of Residence in order to cancel the absconding report with the payment of the required in order to get permission to obtain a new visa.
