According to the directives of the rational government to enhance the family and community stability of residents on the state’s land, it has been decided to reduce the consumption tariff for the category of freehold ownership for non-citizens (villas and apartments), which was 45 fils per kilo, to be replaced by a system of slides to be as follows:
· First tranche - for consumption from 0 to 2000 kW at 28 fils per kilowatt.
· The second tranche - for consumption from 2001 to 4000 kilowatts, at 33 fils per kilowatt.
· The third tranche - for consumption from 4001 to 6000 kilowatts, at 37 fils per kilowatt.
· Fourth tranche - for consumption above 6000 kW at 43 fils per kilowatt.
The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority decided to cancel the fixed electricity tariff fees that are currently applied and amounts to 45 fils per kilowatt, and to unify the electricity consumption fees in the "freehold" category and the residence of the residents in buildings owned by non-citizens.
It is planned to reduce fees by up to 37.7% for a large number of subscribers and return to the system of slides and apply it to residential categories of apartments and homes starting from bills of January 2020.
