- the immune suppersing drugs such as cyclosporin in case of chronic autoimmune diseases of the eye such as rheumatoid arthritis
- drugs that simulates the tear production such as pilocarpine as a tablet or gel for or in a form of eyedrops

what are the causes of dry eye ?

what are the diagnostic tests ?

- the doctor might mesure the volume of the tears suing a special cotton pads that are attached to the lower eyelids
- the doctor will exam the quality of the tears using a special dye to the tears in your eye and then see how the tears are distrebuted in your eyes and the time it takes it to evaporate from you eyes surface
what is the advice ?
- as you have seen in our explanation that dry eye is rarely an issue by itself rather than a complication of other underlaying condition so ue advice you to visit the ophthalmologist for the right diagnosis and the correct treatment

Thank you so much for your answer I found it very useful. I have a high blood pressure I use Co Diovan (12.5/160 mg) I do not know if this medicine from the same group you have mentioned in your answer that may cause eye problem. beside I do have a RA as well for 5 yearsControlled by medication. as I explained the problem happened suddenly without any notice and no tears produced at all not even a minimum. I saw the doctor who examined m my eyes very welland said this is dry eyes problem. advise to use Restasis eye drops for 6 month which i started 2 month now without improvement.

But your problem is from complained rhamatoid arthreties just use of eye rebluicant as refresh tears or restaises
