We would like to inform you that if your inquiry relates to terminate the limited contract by the worker due to low salary, the following information:
The UAE Labor Law does not allow employer or the worker to terminate a limited employment contract before the end of its term without legal reason.
Low salary is not a legal reason to terminate an employment contract, as long as the employer is obliged to pay the monthly salary registered in the employment contract.
If the worker terminates the limited contract without legal reason, compensation shall be paid to the employer for a value not exceeding one and a half months' salary in addition to the employer's right to apply for a one-year ban against the worker.
We recommend that you negotiate with your employer in order not to ban a worker.
Article (116):
Where a contract is revoked by the worker for reasons other than those stipulated in Article (121), he shall be required to compensate the employer for any damage the latter sustains as a result, provided that the amount of compensation shall not exceed half a month wage for three months or for the remaining period of the contract, whichever is shorter, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract.
