Hello, I would like to ask in regard what labor law says for deduction in salaries for being late form 2-10 minutes during one month for which they have deducted 1900 aed and they state this is as per labor law for late attendance in the last 6 months you get deducted 5 working days?

We would like to inform you that being late is considered behavioral offense requiring alert and warning and if they didn’t notify or warn you then this deduction is a penalty you can file a complaint with the Labor Office through the following link:

Article 102

The disciplinary measures that an employer or his representative may impose on the workers shall be as follows:

1. Warning.

2. Fine.

3. Suspension from work with reduced pay for a period not to exceed 10 days.

4. Denial or deferment of periodical allowance, in firms applying such a scheme.

5. Denial of promotion, in establishments applying a promotion scheme.

6. Dismissal without prejudice to severance pay.

7. Dismissal with denial of all or part of the severance pay. This penalty may not be imposed for reasons other than those exclusively specified in Article 120 hereof.

 

Article(60):

No amount shall be deducted from the wage of the worker for special rights except in the following cases:

A) Refund of advances or amounts paid to the worker in excess of his right, provided that the remuneration in this case shall not exceed 10% of the worker's periodic wage.

B) The premiums that the workers must legally pay from their wages such as social security and insurance policies.

C) Contributions of the employee to the Provident Fund or the advances due to the Fund

D) The installments of any social project or any other benefits or services provided by the employer, stipulated in  the Labor Department.

E) The penalties imposed on the worker for the offenses he commits.

F) Every debt collected in accordance with a court order, provided that the amount payable, pursuance of the judgment shall not exceed one quarter of the wage due to the worker. If multiple debts or multiple creditors considered the upper half of the wage and divided amounts required to be booked between the recipients of the apportionment of a fine after the payment of the debt of legal maintenance by a quarter of the wage.
