I had stomach upset problem IBS and acidity reflux as well. Doctor advised me occult blood test which came positive a month ago .now I had it again its negative now. Doctor had advised me endoscopy and colonoscopy. Age43 and father had colon cancer. In 2005 I had endoscopy where 2nd grade ulcer was fished

Treatmen of acid reflux and positive occult blood:
It depends on the cause, and till the right diagnosis you can relief this pain by:- Conservative management by avoid stress, get enough water daily, avoid salts, avoid smoking
- Take omeprazole 20 mg twice daily
- If there is H.pylori infection, you can take augmentin 500 mg three times daily and flagyl 500 mg three times daily
- Surgical intervention as for colon cancer...etc
Causes of acid reflux and positive occult blood:
It may be due to:
Gastritis
H. pylori infection
Inflammatory bowel disease
Colon cancer ...etc
Diagnosis of the cause of acid reflux and positive occult blood:
You have to visist your doctor for clinical examination and investigations as:
- H.pylori
- Upper endoscope
- Colonscope
- CEA for colon cancer
- Abdomen CT or MRI
- Liver and renal function tests
- Stool analysis...etc
