Treatment of gout:
It depends on:
- Symptoms
- Level of uric acid
- Cause of gout
- General health of the patient,
- Conservative managment by avoiding protein-rich food, drinking good amount of water daily and avoiding salts
- Treatment of the cause as renal diseases
- Medications to relieve pain as colchicine 0.5 mg twice daily for 2 weeks and cataflam 50 mg twice daily
- Allopurinol to decrease level of uric acid
Symptoms of gout:
- Big toe pain
- Arthralgia
- Joints swelling
- Joints redness
- Foot hotness...etc
Diagnosis of gout:
You have to visit a rheumatologist for clinical examination and investigations as:
- Uric acid
- CBC, ESR, CRP to rule out infection
- RF, Anti ccp to rule out rheumatoid
- Urea, creatinine for renal diseases
- Synovial fluid analysis and culture...etc
What i advise you?
To relieve pain as colchicine 0.5 mg twice daily for 2 weeks and cataflam 50 mg twice daily.
