I want to know what l need

We would like to inform you that you must go to the Traffic Department of your place of residence and submit a request to replace your license to a Qatari license provided that you attach a copy of your valid passport after reviewing the original and Qatari residence to be valid and pass the necessary tests and payment of fees prescribed by the Qatari Traffic Law :

Article 3

(As amended by Law No. 2 of 1985 Official Gazette No. 2 of 1985):

(A) No motor vehicle shall be driven on the road except after obtaining a driving license issued by the Licensing Authority authorizing its driver to drive that vehicle. No one may obtain more than one license of one kind, and this license may not be transferred to any other person.

(B) Whoever belongs to any of the following categories shall be exempted from the provisions of the preceding paragraph:

1. The category of GCC nationals who hold valid driving licenses issued by the competent authorities of their countries, and shall be replaced at the expiry of their validity while in the country.

2- The category of visitors and tourists other than those mentioned in the previous item who hold valid foreign driving licenses, provided that they are submitted to the competent authority within one week of their entry into the country. Such licenses shall be canceled after ninety days from the date of their entry.
