  • Stop alcohol consumption
  • PTU or nercaptizole in hyperthyroidism
  • anti Parkinson' s disease drugs like levedopa
  • Stop the stimulant medications
  • In the case of a defined reason to be treated accordingly
What is the tremor in the hands?
rhythmic muscle contraction  resulting in vibratory movements in one or more muscle groups in any parts of the body.

It can happen on its own or occur as a result of another disorder
What causes tremor in the hands?
Generally
shaking hands is caused by a problem in the deep parts of the brain that controls movements. Most types of tremors have no known cause, although there are some forms that seem to be hereditary but there are other reasons including:

  • Brain Injuries
  • Parkinson's disease
  • And the use of certain drugs such as :

  • lead  poisoning
  • hyperthyroidism
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Kidney failure
  • Anxiety or panic
How is the cause of shaking in the hands diagnosed?
  • Clinical and neurological examination and medical history
  • Whether shaking occurs when the muscles are at rest or at work
  • Do shakings in one hand or both hands
  • Other symptoms such as poor balance, speech abnormalities, or increased muscle stiffness indicate symptoms of a problem in the brain
  • Blood or urine tests can exclude metabolic causes such as thyroid malfunction
  • Examination of liver and kidney functions
  • Diagnostic  MRI may help to determine whether tremor is the result of damage to the brain.
