We would like to inform you that Italian citizenship may be obtained by birth, but provided that the child is born to an Italian citizen and it does not matter if the parents of the child or one of them is an Italian citizen, as long as one of the parents holds the nationality the child acquires citizenship automatically. If a child is born to citizens who do not have Italian citizenship, he does not automatically acquire citizenship, but the child has the right to apply for Italian citizenship before reaching the age of 18 years.
