We would like to inform you that for nonimmigrant visa applicants:

Step 1:

Determine your visa typeby reading common nonimmigrant visas where each visa explains the qualifications and application terms then choose the type of visa that applies to your situation and be sure to review the visa waiver program and if your country is participating in the visa waiver program where you do not need to apply for a visa if you are traveling for business or leisure purposes in which case you can stay in the United States for 90 days or less

Step 2:

The next step is to complete the DS-160 form.

Be sure to read the instructions for completing the DS-160 carefully and all information should be accurate and correct and you cannot make any changes if you need help. Please consult an immigration lawyer or interpreter as the call center cannot help you complete the DS-160. You will need your DS-160 to book an appointment.

Step 3:

Once you have determined the correct visa type and completed the DS-160, you must pay the visa fee.

The Visa Fees page lists the visa types and fees associated with them in US Dollars and in local currency.

To pay your visa fee Read the Bank and Payment Options page where the page explains how to make your visa payment and you must create a profile for you as well as keep your receipt number to book your visa appointment.

Step 4:

You should now sign in to your profile with the same credentials you used to pay your visa fee once you are logged in to the system you will see a dashboard, then click on "Schedule Appointment" in the menu on the left hand side.

- Your passport number.

- The CGI reference number of your visa fee receipt. (Click here if you want to find the number.)

- The 10-digit bar code number from your DS-160 confirmation page.

In the next steps of the process you will be able to determine your visa type, enter personal data, add dependents, locate the delivery of your documents, confirm visa payment and schedule an appointment.

Step 5:

Visit the U.S. Embassy on the date and time of your visa interview and be sure to check the My Appointment Scheduling page for the necessary documents required for your appointment.

Step 6:

If your visa is approved, the visa will be sent to your designated location when you schedule your appointment.
