Hi Lawyer, I have started Training business with a...
Hi Lawyer,
I have started Training business with a Yemeny gentle man. Verbal agreement was I will do training and he will setup the facilities for training and he will get legal licence for training.
He invested around 3000 KD to setup the facility. I didnt took any money from him. He was setting up business place.
Business didnt go well. And when I need to stop business he told me that he should get 1500 KD from me as loss he incurred. And he made me to sign on a white paper. As per the paper I am obligated to pay him 1500/-. I worked there part time without salary for one year. Thinking business will develop.
I paid him already 1000/- in cash . I didnt get any signature from him . and 500 is left.
Now he is asking for another 1000/-
he is telling he will go to court with paper i signed and register a case against me.
Can you suggest me what I have to do now ?

We would like to inform you that according to the Kuwaiti Law, your legal status is weak as you signed the document, but if that person applied an implementation case with your signed paper, then you can appeal in the court and explain the details, and prove that you have been working without salaries. Also, explain that you signed the document without determining the amounts and clarify that this is used to annoy you.
We advise you to go to the Public Prosecution or the nearest police office and report about the fraud and they will call him and investigate. Also, you can prove that you work without salary and they blackmail you to pay the amount without legal reason.
