Hi. My company recently changed ownership and we were asked to sign new contracts, but still having the original start dates (mine is November 2016). However, a probation period of 3 months is still stated on the new contract. Will I still be eligible for gratuity if I leave in Nov/Dec 2019? And will I have to bear costs of a visa renewal?

In case of renewal of the contract, the new period or periods shall be deemed to be an extension of the original term and shall be added to the calculation of the total period of service of the worker. A worker who has completed one or more years of continuous service shall be entitled to the end of service gratuity at the end of his service. The days of unpaid work shall not be included in the calculation of the period of service.
