We would like to inform you that foreigners have been authorized to invest in the State of Qatar under the Foreign Investment Law of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, which provides for foreign investors to invest in all sectors of the national economy, provided that:
- The foreign partner has a Qatari partner or more, not less than 51% of their contributions.
- The company has been established in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the law in the State of Qatar, in accordance with the provisions of the Commercial Companies Law.
The Minister may also permit foreign investors to exceed their contributions from 49% to 100% of the legal capital of any kind, whether in the fields of industry, agriculture, education, health or tourism, as well as the development and exploitation of natural resources or energy and mining, provided that the project With the development plan in the State of Qatar.
Noting that they are preferable to be projects that use local products and raw materials, which help to increase added value, as well as projects that optimize the utilization of raw materials locally available in Qatar and the export industries, industries that offer a new product, or industries that use modern technology, as well as projects of world renown, as well as projects that concern the national cadres.
The Qatari law, by Emiri Decree, authorized for non-Qatari foreign nationals to invest their funds without Qatari partners in all fields such as mining, industry, agriculture, operating forces, business or tourism. The law allowed for non-Qatari foreigners to import the necessary materials which are not found in Qatar for these projects.
Qatar does not have any restrictions on investing foreign capital in Qatar in the future without affecting the competition between foreign and Qatari investors.
Noting that it is prohibited for foreigners to invest in the fields of insurance companies, banks or the field of buying property or commercial agencies.
