We would like to inform you that if you are resident in UAE, and applied for the visa in the Canadian embassy, then the visa will be stuck on tge passport with no need for paper visa.
As when you apply for the visa yoy need to provide your passport to put the visa on it.

Thank you for clarifying where the visa applicant's nationality is not clarified as an Emirati, therefore, you do not need to obtain an advance visa and you can check with the Embassy for an electronic travel permit that is electronically linked to the passenger's passport and it is valid for up to five years or until the expiry of the passport whichever comes first. If the traveler gets a new passport, he / she must also obtain a new electronic travel permit.
