We would like to inform you that in addition to our colleague answer, and according to the UAE Labor and Residence Law, due to the end of the contract and the visa cancellation and you get all your dues and rights then you can look for another sponsor and transfer the sponsorship on him.
Note that what the employer threaten is violation and you can file a complaint against him in the labor office and explain the details to change the employer.
