What is the treatment of swelling in the rib cage?
In some cases, severe pain may be caused by a broken rib, which needs time to improve, but the following can be benefited from:
Analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs such as CELECOXIB200mg 1x2 or NAPROXiN500mg 1x2
Muscle relaxants. If mild to moderate pain does not improve with pain relievers such as ORPHANDRINE CITRATE 1x3
Topical pain relievers. These are creams or ointments applied to the pain site such as PIROX GEL
Some drugs, such as codeine or hydrocodone, can be used for a short time
physiotherapy
Massage with sesame oil
No effort or pressure on the region
What tests are needed in your case?
X-ray
MRI or CT scan in some cases
Blood tests.
What are the complications of the swelling in the rib cage?
Severe pain
breathing difficulties
Fracture of the ribs
Air in the lung is the most dangerous
