Dear Customer

Regarding your question
What is the treatment of cyst in the bartholin gland?
Treatment may not be necessary when the Bartholin gland does not cause any symptoms. cyst should be monitored to see if it grows. In cases requiring intervention, a catheter may be placed to remove the cyst, or the cyst can be surgically opened.
The catheter remains in place for 2 to 4 weeks, to take out the liquid and then the catheter is removed.
Catheters do not generally impede normal activity, but sexual intercourse should be avoided if the catheter is in place.
Cysts can also be permanently opened, where an opening is formed on the gland and then stitching the wound
In case of cystitis, it may open and begin to heal on its own after 3 to 4 days. Palliative medications such as ibuprofen relieves pain, soaks warm water.
Warm compresses can speed healing.
Cefuroxime can be given 500mg tablets every 12 hours
If a Bartholin's cyst returns several times, it can be surgically removed.
What are Bartholin's glands?
Bartholin's glands are located slightly inferior to the left and right of the front of the vagina
It is secreted from the inner vaginal wall and from the bartholin glands, a liquid that moisturizes the vagina of a woman.
The secretions that moisturize the vagina are always present ie women produce small amounts of moisturizing liquid about 1.5 g per day, but production increases significantly near ovulation and during sexual excitement in anticipation of sexual intercourse.
