I work as a maid I have up to 8yrs experience. But it's different here I am send yo work at friends, brother's, mother's house by my boss whom am currently 6 months since they hired me , is that allowed beside them keeping my passport , I'd, I work for upto 18 hrs or more a day

They are always shouting over everything, less food which is only lunch, no full day off o get 2to 3 hrs some days if I ask to go out buy stuff sometimes I just need to go catch my breath as I feel my BP is running high because am always nervous and anxious of what's gonna happen next. Am loosing it I don't know the best possible way to do

We would like to inform you that according to the Qatari law, an employer is obliged to:

  1. Provide the user with adequate food and housing, proper health care, medicines and medical supplies if he is sick or injured during or due to work performance, without obliging the user to pay any financial burdens.
  2. The user shall be treated well and shall preserve his dignity and the integrity of his body.
  3. Not to endanger the user's life or health, or to harm him physically or psychologically in any way whatsoever.

4 - not to operate the user during his sick leave.

5 - not to operate the user in the daily rest dates or on weekends, unless there is agreement between the parties otherwise

  1. The maximum working hours shall be ten hours per day, unless otherwise agreed upon, during which periods of worship, rest and eating shall be interspersed. These periods shall not be included in the calculation of working hours.
  2. The employee shall be entitled to a weekly paid leave of not less than twenty-four consecutive hours. The date of the weekly leave shall be determined as agreed by the parties to the employment contract.
  3. For each Gregorian year served, the employee shall be entitled to three weeks of annual paid leave, which he may divide and choose when and where to spend it, unless otherwise agreed to in the interest of the user.

 

Therefore, you can file a complaint against your employer for not committing that.
