Can I get sick leave and public holidays on same...

We would like to inform you that although your inquiry is unclear, we refer to the following:
If your inquiry relates to the possibility of obtaining a sick leave on the same day as a public holiday, we refer to the following legal information: The worker is entitled to a sick leave provided that there is a medical certificate that supports the existence of the medical condition. The labor law in the Sultanate of Oman does not have a text on the extent to which the worker can get sick leave on the same day of annual leave.
Here is the text of the Labor Law in the Sultanate of Oman concerning your inquiry:
Article 66:
Subject to the provisions of the Social Insurance Law, an employee whose sickness is proved shall have the right to a sick leave not exceeding in total ten weeks in one year whether such weeks are continuous or separate and the sick leave shall be granted as follows:
First two weeks leave: full pay
Following two weeks leave: paid ¾ of the full salary
Following two weeks leave: paid ½ of the full salary
Following four weeks leave: paid ¼ of the full salary
Proof of sickness shall be by a medical certificate. However, in case there is a dispute, the matter shall be referred to the Medical Committee, provided for in Article (43) of this Law.
A sick employee may make use of the remaining annual leave in addition to the sick leave he is entitled to.
