We would like to inform you that the first step to obtain permanent residence is to go to the Canadian Department of Immigration and Citizenship and apply for permanent residence. You will need to submit a set of documents such as:

As for Canadian citizenship and before applying for Canadian citizenship in order to become a Canadian citizen you shall access the following official website and answer some important questions and then you will be informed whether you are eligible to become a Canadian citizen or not:

If found eligible, you shall log in to the Canadian Government website and fill out the application form, attach it with some of the documents they will request from you, and then send the application file to the Citizenship and Immigration Office. You will need to pay some fees to get the necessary receipt and send the application form and documents by mail. You will then receive a confirmation notice from this office and you will be  provided with your file number so you could follow it up.
