We would like to inform you that in order to obtain a work visa in Qatar, a work contract from an employer that enables a person to work in Qatar is required.
This means that anyone who enters Qatar on a non-work visa will be prohibited from engaging in any professional activity. This type of visa is the responsibility of the employer to obtain a work visa for each employee appointed before entering Qatar.
Therefore, the following documents and information must be submitted to the Qatari Ministry of Labor by an employer who may be a company or contract to obtain a work visa:
- Fill in the application form for a work visa in Arabic;
- A copy of the company's commercial register;
- Labor migration card;
- A copy of a valid employment contract between the employer and the employee
- Copy of the employee's passport
- 4 photos as passport size
Once the employer has obtained the work visa, he must send a copy to the employee and then submit the original at the airport of the arrival of the employee before the employee arrives in Qatar.
The work visa is valid for the duration of the contract with the company or the employer and is usually one to five years.
The visa fee is QR 200.
Procedures for obtaining a work permit in Qatar:
- The work permit must be arranged within 7 days of the arrival of the worker in Qatar.
- Such authorization can only be made after the recruitment procedures have been agreed.
- In addition, before applying for a work permit, you must obtain a medical certificate explaining the health of the employee.
Therefore, the employee or worker must obtain a medical certificate explaining his health and must perform this examination in a government hospital
Once the medical certificate has been obtained, you can apply for a work permit and a residence permit in Qatar for the period agreed to in the contract.
A residence permit in Qatar is obtained after the approval of a work visa and work permit.
The employee has the right to change his work visa to a residence permit.
Once a residence permit has been issued, the employee may work under the employer until the expiry of the period specified in the contract, which must be renewed every few years depending on each case.
