We would like to inform you that according to the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. (15) for the year (1959), which showed the conditions and requirements of nationality if available in the expatriate or resident person, which with verification can go to the Ministry of Interior and apply for proof of residence to you the following clarification by law
Article 4
A decision, based on the offer of the minister of interior may be issued to grant the nationality for each person has the age of puberty if the following conditions are met:
-to have a legal residence in Kuwait for at least 20 consecutive years or 15 consecutive years if the person belongs to Arab country.
The applicant for a residence should not go outside Kuwait for official mission- if he leave Kuwait for non-official mission with the desire to return the period he may spend outside Kuwait shall be deducted from the period he spent in Kuwait.
–to have a legitimate reason for living or a job, good conduct and deed, not condemned of a dishonorable or dishonest crime
- to speak Arabic –
to perform the required duty for the country.
–to be an original Muslim or to become a Muslim by the announcement and by the procedures, 5 years before granting him the nationality.
–if he repent from Islam the nationality shall be withdrawn by law enforcement and the decision shall cancelled, also for those who follow him.
The law shall determine the number of person who may be granted citizenship each year by applying the provisions of this article.
Article 5
Without obtaining the conditions stipulated in the preceding article, the Kuwaiti citizenship may be granted for each person belongs to Arab country and to offer a useful services for the country.
Article 5
Exception from the previous article, the Kuwaiti citizenship may be granted, by a decision of the minister of interior, for the following:
-who presented a useful services for the country.-who was born for a Kuwaiti mother and to stay in the country until the age of puberty, if the father is a foreigner, divorced the mother or died, by a decision of the minister of interior may deal with them as minors until the age of puberty,.- who stayed in Kuwait the year 1965 and before that and remain as a resident until the decision to grant him the residence is issued. The residence of the original is a complementary for the sons , in the third clause in this article provided that the (son)or offspring should be born and resident in Kuwait, provided to issue a decision to grant him the citizenship each year as application to the provision of the law.
Article 6
“he who has the citizenship according to the provisions of Article 4-5-6-7 of this law has the right to vote for any Parliamentary body of 20 years of the before the expiry citizenship those who are mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall not have the right of nomination or appointment for any entity.
