We would like to inform you that In accordance with the UAE law, the employer may not reserve the passport, but in case the passport is reserved with the sponsor you may ask for it and if he refused, you can raise a complaint at the nearest police station and you can submit a copy of the complaint at the labor office. However, the law authorized to hold the passport with any government department under the Ministry of Interior with the legal justification for the reservation, otherwise it is considered an illegal violation and this is unlike employers in the private sector, which prevents them from booking workers' passports.
