We would like to inform you that according to the Residence Law of 2015, if the Qatari ID expired and it is linked with the visa, then you can leave if that is final leave. But if you want to return to the country then you have to renew it. After cancelling the visa that will not affect on your travel, but you will face problem when you apply for new visa unless you cancel the old one.
So it is better to follow up with the employer before travelling to check the visa cancelling.
