Hi Waleed, I am facing an issue to terminate my contract with an establishment called The Cave DXB. The Cave DXB has marketed themselves as an artists in resident program that allows artists to rent out a space for a monthly fee and give them the benefits of having access to a clean space where they can display their art, have their art sold to customers with a commission rate for them, and actively organise events to allow artists to sell their work, be showcased in events and shows or pop-ups and promote them. They only offered initially an annual contract of which they take all the cheques upfront for 12 months for artists to pay rent given everything that has been agreed. The contract however only shows that it is a space to purely rent out and all the added benefits they have sold the artists into are not listed. Moreover, the space is no longer even active nor is it applicable to promote any art due to hygienic purposes and the studio is no longer even inviting for clients to even enter. The contract does not allow artists to terminate until the 12 months are over however they have broken some rules in their own contract. The contract only protects and benefits them and I would like to cancel with them however they are not active, do not respond and do not follow up. Kindly assist me to knowing how I can legally terminate my contract with them as they have no held their end of the communication.
