We would like to inform you that according to the Omani Residence Law, you can’t transfer the visit visa to work visa. But if there is a vacancy you can leave the country then return with work visa that grants you the residence, and the work visa is granted at the request of the employer and under his responsibility to the foreigner coming to work, and under a license issued by the Ministry of Manpower unless the employer is a government entity
The required documents for the visa are as follows:
· The application is submitted by filling out the electronic form on the website of the Royal Oman Police. The application must be signed by the employer or authorized person to sign it and printed in Arabic for the Arab nationalities and in the English language for the non-Arab nationalities.
· Two personal photographs (4 x 6 cm).
· A copy of the foreigner's passport valid for at least six months.
· Work permit issued by the Ministry of Labor with a copy of it for each application.
· A medical examination card with a copy of it for some of the countries and approved by the Ministry of Health (India, Pakistan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Syrian Arab Republic, Nepal)
· Attach a copy of the approval of the competent authority for certain professions such as: teaching professions, religious professions, media and medical professions, etc.
· Attach a letter from the Ministry of labor to the qualified professions such as engineers and others.
· If the foreigner has previously worked in the Sultanate of Oman and has not completed two years from the date of his departure, he must bring the CV from his previous employer, provided that it is approved by the General Directorate of Passports and Residence.
