We would like to inform you that according to the UAE Labor Law, only the employer who can file absconding report so the worker can’t cancel it by himself.
For losing the passport, it is not considered a reason for terminating the work as you have a police report to prove the loss and this is to get another passport.
According to the law, the employer can file an absconding report if there is any violation by the worker and reasons related to article 120 which allows the employer to terminate the worker without reason and ban him too.
If you were complied with your work and the employer filed absconding against you, then it is untrue report and you can cancel it by reviewing the labor office and prove that.
For getting a new work, that requires cancelling the old visa by the sponsor, so you have to cancel the visa and get the passport to put the visa on it. The law grants you 30 days to correct the residence, during that you can get passport and resettle the residence situation by changing the employer.
