Since one week I am feeling pain in my right ankle...

Treatment of right ankle pain:

It depends on the cause, as treatment may include:

• NSAID for arthritis, ankle sprain...etc
• Antibiotic for infection as augmentin 500 mg three times daily
• Cast for advanced degree of sprain....etc

Causes of right ankle pain:

It may be due to:

• Ankle sprain post twisting falling down which associated with pain, swelling
• Infection which associated with pain, redness, swelling and fever
• Gout
• Plantar fasciatis
• Achilles tendenopathy...etc

Diagnosis of the cause of right ankle pain:

It depends on the clinical examination by an orthopedist and investigations as:

• CBC, ESR, CRP to detect tinfection
• Ankle X-ray
• Ankle CT or MRI
• Ankle ultrasound for achilles tendon problems
• Uric acid for gout...etc

What i advise you?

Till the right diagnosis you can use the following management:

• Ankle sprain
• Rest
• Cataflam 50 mg twice daily
