Treatment of degenerative cervical spondylosis:

It depends on many factors as:

• Degree of degenerative cervical spondylosis
• Symptoms
• Patient age

So, treatment may include:

• Conservative management by rest, avoiding lifting heavy objects
• Medications as NSAID as cataflam 50 mg twice daily, muscle relaxants as relaxon twice daily, Corticosteroids  as prednisone 5 mg twice daily
• Surgery if there is no response to medications, progressive neurological symptoms

Symptoms of degenerative cervical spondylosis:

• Neck pain
• Referred pain to shoulder and upper limbs
• Neck stiffness
• Balance problems
• Hand numbness...etc

Diagnosis of degenerative cervical spondylosis:

It depends on the clinical examination of an orthopedist and ivestigations as:

• Cervical x-ray
• Cervical MRI

• Celecoxib 200 mg once daily for 10 days
• Muscle relaxant as relaxon twice daily for 5 days
• Diclofene gel twice daily
• Bisphosphonate once weekly  for 4 weeks
• Calcium supplement twice daily for 1 month
