We would like to inform you that if you want to obtain a passport of East Timor, you should first obtain the citizenship of this state. The application for citizenship is submitted to the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of East Timor and the request will be considered by a consultation committee. If the application is accepted, the Minister shall submit the application to the Council of Ministers for approval. After obtaining citizenship, you can obtain a passport by applying to the Immigration and Passport Department. The legal period can not be determined accurately as it depends on the procedures within the Ministry of the Interior, but in total, it does not exceed 5 months.
