We would like you to know that if your inquiry relates to that you work under a fixed-term contract and you want to terminate the contract after one year, here is the following information:

In accordance with the UAE Labor Law, there is no provision that grants a worker to terminate a fixed employment contract before the end of his term without a legal reason. That is, the work must be continued until the end of the contract.

If you terminate your employment contract illegally, you must pay compensation to your employer equal to a maximum of one and a half months' salary.

In the event that the employer is not committed to pay the salaries of the worker, the worker can file a complaint at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

If the worker receives a judgment that he is entitled to a salary of at least two months, the transfer of the sponsorship can be requested without his consent.

 Here is the text of the UAE Labor Law, which concerns your inquiry:

Article (116)

Where a contract is revoked by the worker for reasons other than those specified in Article (121), he shall be required to compensate the employer for any damage the latter sustains as a result, provided that the amount of compensation shall not exceed half a month wage for three months or for the remaining period of the contract, whichever is shorter, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract.
