Basic salary as per mutual agreement between UAE and Philippines governments is USD 400. Al Mustaqeem only pays their employees from the Phillipines USD 230

On top if this USD 230 the maids receive a cash advance LOAN of AED 290 which is repayable upon demand

And they received AED 364 which is a payment for annual leave (they dont accrue any annual leave for the 1st year) and for advance End of Service, holidays, and ticket money

Adding these 3 up leads to exactly AED 1500 which should be the minimum basic salary

In May 2018, MoHRE was made responsible to oversee that the maids were treated fair and equally. Only because of MoHRE were Phillipines maids allowed to come ti the UAE again. Nothing has really changed for these girls. They are forced to sign illegal pre employment agreements, full of threats and illegal proposals, they are underpaid and treated like “slaves”. I have had enough of these agencies making a lot of money and completely ignoring the law AND getting away with it , WITH the knowledge of MoHRE who Should be protecting these girls rights.

We would like to inform you that the competent authority in this case is the Ministry of Human Resources, so, you must follow up the complaint that you have submitted to the ministry, so that if the complaint is not resolved through the ministry when calling the parties in order to end the dispute, the ministry should refer the complaint to the labor court to decide on it and you have to submit all documents proving the validity of what you claim. You can also obtain a temporary work permit to work for another employer as long as the dispute is ongoing.
