We would like to inform you that according to law, the employer doesn’t have the right to take your passport. If they took it then you can ask them to return it, if they refuse then you can file a complaint in the nearest police office and you can take copy of the complaint to the labor office to clarify the violation by the employer. As the law allows the governmental entities with legal reason otherwise it considered legal violation but the private companies are not allowed to take the passport.
Article 121:
A worker may leave work without notice in one of the following cases:
1- If the employer violates his obligations before the worker in the articles stipulated in the contract or the law.
2- If the employer or his legal representative signs an assault on the worker.
You may be allowed to change the employer without NOC. Also, if you have work contract or work offer then go to the bank to get your bank statement to clarify the amount which is deposited to your account in the last months. Then there is violation and you have to go to the labor office and file a complaint against the employer in UAE branch.
