This is an extremely important document, and a foreign resident is considered legal in Brazil only if he or she possesses this document.
The RNE is also required to apply for a work permit, open a bank account, and rent a house, among other things.

You will need the following documents:
Passports, with photocopies of all used pages;
Your original visa;
Two recent photographs (in a 3x4cm format);
Embarkation/disembarkation card;
Proof of payment of all required fees.
