We would like to inform you that If you mean to acquire US citizenship, the applicant must generally show that he is a person of good moral character in the legal period (Typically, the period is five years and decreases to three years if the applicant is married to an American and to one year if the applicant has served in the US armed forces) before submitting an application for citizenship, the applicant is prohibited from acquiring citizenship if it is proved that he has been convicted or committed a crime or misdemeanor. A person may also be immoral if found guilty during the previous five years of a number of other offenses.
