I would like to inform you that the custody is for the mother but the father can see his kids and participate in their upbringing that is even in Abu dhabi .
The UAE Personal Status Law stipulates the following:
1- The custody of women shall be terminated by the age of eleven years and the female thirteen years, unless the court sees the extension of this age for the benefit of the child until the male or the female is married.
2. The custody of women shall continue if the child is disabled or sick, unless the interests of the child are otherwise required.
