We would like to inform you that It should be noted that after reviewing your inquiry and legal scrutiny we would like to provide you with the following:
Referring to the Omani Nationality Law and to the articles of the law regulated by Article (15):
The foreigner can apply for Omani citizenship if the following conditions are met:
1- His application for residency in Amman shall be preceded by continuous lawful residence for a period of not less than (20) twenty years or (15) fifteen years if he is married to an Omani woman, provided that her marriage has been with the prior approval of the ministry and does not prevent his residence from continuing his absence during the year for a period not exceeding 60 days
2 - Familiar with Arabic reading and writing
3 - Have good conduct and behavior.
4. He shall not have been sentenced before a final sentence of a felony or a crime against the honor or the secretariat even if rehabilitated
5 - Healthy and free from infectious diseases as determined by the Regulations.
6- He must have a legitimate source of livelihood that is sufficient to meet his need and the need of his dependents
7 - To declare in writing his desire to relinquish the nationality of the state he holds and to provide proof that his law allows him to do so and minor children acquire Omani nationality according to their father if they were born in Amman or their normal residence there.
Article (16): A foreign wife may apply for Omani citizenship if the following conditions are met:
1 - that her marriage has been with the prior consent of the Ministry, and does not apply this condition to the person who was married before her husband obtained Omani nationality
2- have a child from her Omani husband
3. A person who has lived in Amman for a period of not less than (15) years and has not been deprived of residence for a period of not more than (60) days.
4 - Do not be married to non-Omani.
5- To be fluent in Arabic speaking
6 - to be good conduct and conduct.
7. If he has not already been sentenced to a final sentence of felony or an offense against honor or trust,
8. Be healthy and free from infectious diseases as defined in the Regulations
9. Acknowledge in writing that it wishes to waive the nationality of the State which it bears and to provide proof that its law authorizes it to do so
Article (17): A foreign woman who is a widow or divorced of Oman may apply for Omani citizenship if the following conditions are met:
1 - that her marriage has been with the prior consent of the Ministry and does not apply this condition to the person who was married before her husband obtained Omani nationality.
2- To have a child from her Omani husband.
3. A person who has lived in Amman for a period of not less than fifteen (15) years and has not been prevented from taking into consideration that her residence is continuously absent during the year for a period not exceeding 60 days.
4 - Do not be married to non-Omani
5- To be fluent in Arabic speaking
6. To be of good conduct and behavior
7. If he has not already been sentenced to a final sentence of felony or an offense against honor or trust,
8. Be healthy and free from infectious diseases, as determined by the Regulations
9. Acknowledge in writing that it wishes to waive the nationality of the State which it bears and to provide proof that its law authorizes it to do so.
Article (18): Omani nationality may be granted to a minor born of Omani women from her foreign husband if the following conditions are met:
1. The mother shall be widowed or divorced, or absent or abandoned by her husband to an unknown destination for a period of not less than ten (10) continuous years, and this absence or abandonment shall be proved by judicial decision.
2- The marriage of his parents shall be with the prior approval of the Ministry. This condition shall not apply to the person who was married before obtaining Omani nationality.
3. His custody shall be for his mother under a judicial ruling.
4. A person who has lived in Amman for a period of not less than (10) years and has not prevented his residence from continuing his absence during the year for a period not exceeding 60 days.
5. To be of good conduct and behavior.
6. If he has not been rehabilitated before, he shall have been sentenced to a felony or an offense against the honor or trust, unless he has been rehabilitated.
7 - The consent of the guardian of the minor - if any - in writing not to interfere in obtaining Omani nationality.
8. Provide evidence that the law of the State of nationality of the minor authorizes him to waive it.
