We would like to inform you that If the tourist or visitor exceeds the length of stay permitted by the entry permit or visiting or tourism visa, he will be considered to be in breach and will be fined by the relevant authorities in the UAE with a fine of AED 200 for the first day and AED 100 for each subsequent day and these fees are paid at the offices of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs or at the immigration and passport offices at the airport, as well as an additional charge of AED 100 upon leaving the country.

For residents of the UAE, the law grants them a grace period of 30 days either to amend the situation and provide new sponsorship to them and their dependents or leave the state. No fines apply during this grace period. If the grace period ends and the 30-day resident exceeds the limit, he shall be fined 125 for the first day and 25 for each subsequent day and after six months of exceeding the period of stay after the grace period and the expiry of the residence, he shall be fined 50 dirhams for each day exceeding and after exceeding one year the fine shall be increased to 100 dirhams for each day of delay and the fines can be paid without leaving the UAE provided that the residency status is modified
